Position Summary
Under supervision, responsible for the performance of cardiac ultrasound procedures in the impatient and outpatient environment.Work requires graduation from an accredited ultrasound program, experience in cardiac ultrasound and candidacy to sit for registry.Registry status required within 6 months of hire.Requires analytical skills necessary to interact with physicians, hospital staff, offices, patients, families and other guests.Enhances professional performance by keeping current with cardiac ultrasound literature, attending seminar and maintaining continuing education requirements.Accountable to the patient and family for care provided and to the patient care manager/supervisor for the totality of work performance. Meets al standards and requirements of the LMH universal job description.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates proficiency in imaging techniques.
- Recognize and report acute abnormalities.
- Perform ultrasound testing following current standards and protocols.
- Assist physician, staff patients and department customers as needed.
- Follow complicated written, verbal and basic mathematical calculations.
- Enter charges appropriately.
- Resolve operational issues related to scheduling and distribution or reports.
- Establish process improvement indicators and improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
- Become registered within 6 months of employment
- Capable of problem solving.
